Funeral services for Adeline Boenker are scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn, with Pastor Mark Moldenhauer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6 until 8 p.m. Mrs. Boenker passed away in Navasota on June 1, 2014, at the age of 93. Adeline Boenker was born October 3, 1920 in Anderson to Carl W. and Minnie Becker Eickenhorst. She was baptized Oct. 31, 1920 in Anderson and confirmed there on March 25, 1934. On Feb. 16, 1939, Adeline was married to Theo Boenker, Jr. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Wm. Penn, where she remained a member until her death. She loved taking care of her farm, feeding the chickens, milking cows and making homemade butter. Gardening and spending time outdoors were favorite pastimes. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law David Buggar Red and Pat Boenker of Washington; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Albin and Debra Finke of White Hall; grandchildren: Jody Matejicek of Anderson, Jennifer Matejicek of Anderson, and special friend, David Crenshaw, and Leslie and D. L. Groce of Snook; great-grandchildren: MacKenzie Groce, Taylor Groce, and Trey Groce. Adeline is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Theo Boenker, Jr., sister, Clara Finke, and sister and brother-in-law, Erna and Edwin Boenker. Serving as pallbearers are Loyd Finke, John R. Kettler, MarkKettler, Douglas Weidemann, Gene Weidemann, Clint Kettler, Stanley Kettler, and Kent Fisher. Honorary pallbearers are Leon and Barbara Gorney, and Dr. Selva and Dr. Luke Scamardo. Memorials may be directed to Bethlehelm Lutheran Church of Wm. Penn.
