John Alexander was one of the "Infamous Nine" Alexander siblings.

He married Mary Barbary.

John Alexander appears to have moved from Somerset County, MD to Cecil County, MD by the year 1704, along with five of his brothers (James, Samuel, Joseph, Andrew, and Francis). His eldest brother William, Jr. was said to have remained in Somerset County, MD along with his two sisters, his mother, and his father named William, Sr.

Although it might appear as if the six Alexander brothers who moved to Cecil County were dispersed into far away locations all over MD, DE, and PA -- the truth is that they lived less than ten miles away from one other. The area they settled in was very close to the border lines of three states -- MD, DE, and PA.
