MORGANTON, Nov. 17 - The funeral of James W. Wilson who died Friday morning at the home of his sister, Mrs. R.L.Gibbon In Charlotte, was held at the Presbyterian Church here this afternoon and interment made in the Morganton Cemetery.
Though none of the family live in Morganton now, this is the old home
Of the Wilsons, Maj. J.W. Wilson, Sr. being one of the most prominent
Citizens of this section and one of the promoters and builders of the
Western North Carolina Railroad. Many friends from various sections
Of the state were here to attend the funeral this afternoon.
Until his health failed a few months ago Mr. Wilson was in the employ
Of the state revenue department. For several months he had been in
Declining health and he and Mrs. Wilson had been here leaving for
Charlotte just two weeks ago.
He is survived by his wife who was Miss Ivey Hayes, two brothers
A.W. Wilson of Gainesville, Ga. And Adolphus Wilson of San Antonio,
Tex. And three sisters, Mrs. R. L. Gibbon andJ.J. Hutchinson of Charlotte
and Mrs. J. L. Massey of Fort Mill, S.C. He was 59 years of age.
