Mrs. Kilgore received her teaching degree from Western Illinois Teachers College in Macomb. She was the youngest of a family of seven children who all graduated from Western Illinois Teachers College during the Great Depression and became teachers. Mrs. Kilgore taught for many years in western Illinois before moving to Florida with her husband in 1962. They both retired from teaching there and enjoyed boating and fishing in their retirement. Mrs. Kilgore moved to California in 1998.
Survivors include one son, Michael Kilgore of Carlsbad, Cal.; four nieces, Shirley Shutwell of New Windosr Ill., Diana McKinnon of Terre Haute, Ill., Jean Dougherty and Betty Wright of Blandinsville, Ill.; and eight nephews: Steve Duke of Ursa, Ill., Joe Painter of Bloomington, Ill., Jim Painter of Goodfield, Ill., Jerry Churchill of Roseville, Ill., John Churchill of Carthage, Ill., Jim Churchill of Roseville, Sam Churchill of Morton, Ill., and Bill Bushnell of Corning, NY.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters.
