Marcene A. Ruehr, age 92, of Sheboygan, died on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Countryside Manor.

She was born in Sheboygan on May 15, 1922, the daughter of the late William and Ruth Knoener Birnschein.

She attended local schools and graduated from Kohler High School in 1940.

On May 9, 1942 Marcene was united in marriage to Paul J. Ruehr in Sheboygan.

Paul preceded her in death on September 23, 1997. Marcene was a teacher of ceramics for many years and had her own ceramic shop in her home. She enjoyed gardening, arranging flowers, traveling and spending time with her family. Marcene was a past member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church and the Sheboygan Organ Club.

Survivors include her four children, Richard J. (Lynn) Ruehr, of Manitowoc, Paul F. Ruehr, William H. (Janelle) Ruehr, Beth S. (Richard) Herren, all of Sheboygan; a sister, Carol E. Schultz, of Sheboygan and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Donald and Ralph Birnschein and a sister, Marion Ertel.



Burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery.
