Shelby, N.C. - Sandra Baldwin, 61, of Shelby, died on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Carolina's ContinueCARE Hospital at Kings Mountain.

A native of Newport News, Va., she was born on March 17, 1953, a daughter of the late Lawrence Baldwin and Joyce Morehead Baldwin.

She worked for L&K for 5 years, 18 years with Century Contractors and also worked at CVS as a Pharmacy Technician. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church of Shelby. Sandra was also a diehard Duke Basketball fan.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Roger Baldwin and one nephew, Josh Cole.

She is survived by her sisters, Marsha Turner of Shelby, and Ronda McCraw and husband Mully of Mooresboro; one sister-in-law, Sharon Baldwin of Shelby; her nephew, Brad Baldwin and wife Lauren; her nieces, Tammy Curtis and husband Scott, Janet Buckner, Shannon Maggard and husband Steve, Brooke Butler and fiancé Jason Drum, Cassie Dills and husband Terry, Meggie McCraw, Sarah Grace McCraw; her great nieces and nephews, Ethan Baldwin, Kyle Curtis, Dane Maggard, Kendall Curtis, Paige Downey and husband Josh, McKala Butler, Bea Butler, Shayne Maggard, and Layne Maggard; two great-great nieces and two great-great nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Gideon Besson and the staff of Shelby Medical Center, Hospice and Palliative Care of Cleveland County, and the nurses on 4 East at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.

A Celebration of Sandra's Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 01, 2014 at The A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jim Richardson officiating. Visitation will be held immediately following the service and at other times at the home, West Lee Street, Shelby.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, N.C. 28152.
