Elsie Leadbetter Alff Quinn was born September 29, 1912, in Bellingham, WA, and passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 2, 2005, at a Bellingham hospital. Elsie was the child of Mary and Joseph Leadbetter and grew up on Cottonwood Island, now known as Sinclair Island.

Elsie was married to Clarence T. Alff and had two sons, Laurence E. and James E. Alff. Elsie was widowed in 1947 and later married Theodore C. Quinn. She and Ted enjoyed a long and happy marriage until Ted's death in 2003.

Elsie worked hard to raise her sons and throughout her life was well known in the Bellingham restaurant business as the owner-operator of Wag's and Elsie's, the Garden of Eaten, and the Twin Gables restaurants.

Surviving Elsie are her sons, Laurence and James; her grandchildren, Theodore and Kathy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Elsie's family would like to thank the caregivers, Option Care, Dr. Sun, and the staff of St. Joseph Hospital for their compassionate services.

Graveside services will be held Monday, April 11, at 1:00 P.M. at Greenacres Cemetery.
