Otis built covered bridges in Western Oregon. One of the sixteen he built in Lincoln County, the Fisher School Bridge built in 1919, still stands over seventy-five years later.

Dorothy A. Hamar, 86, of 765 S. E. Cherry St., died Sunday in a Salem hospital.
Born in Willamina, she moved to Dallas from Lincoln County in 1958. She was a member of the First Christian Church and a Gold Star Mother.
Survivors included daughters, Mary Tindall, Salem, and Mildred Vincent, Milwaukie; brother, Arthur Fendall, Portland, and one grandson.
Services will be at 1:30 Thursday in the Dallas mortuary and interment in Buck Hollow Cem. in Willamina. The family suggests contributions to the Fendall Community Center in Willamina.
