West Liberty Man Dies After Stroke of Paralysis at Home.

John L. Smith, aged 72, died at the home of his son, Ray Smith, as a result of paralysis. He was born January 27, 1858, near the Salisbury bridge, across the Cedar River and with the exception of three years in Nebraska spent his entire life in the Cedar valley and West Liberty communities. His wife, formerly Sara Wales, also of the Cedar valley community, died several years ago. He is survived by three children, Ed Smith of Muscatine; Ray Smith of West Liberty, and Mrs. Abe Bennett of West Liberty; another son, Edward Smith of Chicago, died a few months ago.
