Mrs. Mary L. Pickett of Rt. 3, English, Ind., daughter of the late Ed Rodgers and Elnora Beard Rodgers was born in Adair Co. on 3 Oct 1909 and departed this life at 2:55 pm Mon. 4 Jul 1983 at the Harrison Co. Hospital in Corydon, Ind. She was 73 years, 9 months and 1 day of age. She was united in marriage to Noel Pickett who preceded her in death on 30 Apr 1965. Five children survive: They are 2 daughters, Mrs. Mildred Bishop of Grantsburg, Ind., and Mrs. Mary Frances England, English, Ind., 3 sons, Noel Pickett, Jr., and Phillip E. Pickett, both of English, Ind., and Charles Pickett of Cincinnati, Ohio. She is also survived by 1 brother, Otis Rodgers of Milltown, Ky., 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She professed faith in Christ early in life and was a member of the Pickett's Chapel United Methodist Church. Funeral services were held at 10:00 Thurs. 7 Jul 1983 at the Pickett's Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jack Vibbert officiating. Burial was in the Tarter's Chapel Cem. Pallbearers were Thomas Pickett, Leonard Bishop, William Pinter, James Dale England, Jim Ed Mitchell, and Curtiss Pickett. Foster-Jones Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
