Mr. Ted F. Beck, 76, a resident of Forest Creek Drive, Wallburg Community, died Wednesday evening, May 21, 2014 in the Hospice Home at High Point.

He was born January 28, 1938 in Davidson County, a son of James Beck and Terese Leonard Beck.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Beck was a retired employee with U.S. Air in Winston-Salem. He was member of Zion United Church of Christ where he had served as a Sunday school teacher, assistant treasurer, deacon and on the Consistory Board. Mr. Beck enjoyed playing golf and as a musician playing bluegrass music. He also volunteered at the polls with the Davidson County Board of Elections (Wallburg Community).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Beck.

On July 1, 1960, he was married to his wife, who survives of the home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11 A.M. in Zion United Church of Christ with Rev. Dr. James Simonds and Rev. Dr. Joe Coltrane officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Beck will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until taken to the church thirty minutes prior to the service.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6 to 8 P.M. and other times at the home.

The family request any memorial contributions be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, N.C. 27262 or to the Building Fund of Zion United Church of Christ, 130 Hasty School Road, Thomasville, N.C. 27360.
