Farmer. Ran a livery stable, Livestock selling business in Johnston. Would travel to Tenn & Kentucky to buy horses, then ship them by rail, to Johnston to rent or sell. Ran a small general store on his property. Married Laura Mary Holmes sometime in 1891. Mary Holmes (1st wife) died in August of 1912. Robert Powell married Miss Laura Candace Bean in November of 1915, about two years before his death in May of 1917, from Heart Disease.
