Simon immigrated with his parents to Presidio County, Texas in 1890 when he was about 18 years old. He married Narcisa Dominguez on 9 Mar 1896 in Shafter, Presidio, Texas. In the 1900 Census Simon indicated he was a laborer in the silver mines in Shafter. In 1910 Census Simon and his family were living in Marfa and he indicated he worked in the copper mines.

Simon and Narcisa had six children all born in Shafter: Felicita, Eliser, Leonor, Estela, David and Manuel.

Simon probably died sometime between 1910 and 1920 as Narcisa is identified as a widow and the head of the household in the 1920 Census. He would have been 38 to 48 years old so it is possible that he was killed in a mining accident or a disease such as influenza which took many lives in the 1917-1918 period.
