Evelyn "Granny" Sanders died Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at the age of 84 years. She was born and raised in Fort Smith. She bowled for many years and served as president and secretary of many leagues. She worked for Sears & Roebuck, Fort Chaffee and Rheem Manufacturing. After retiring from Rheem, she moved to Lake Tenkiller and continued an active life involved in many community projects.

Granny was a very positive person and loved the little smiley face character. She loved to see the good side of people, not the bad side. She was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Arkansas Razorbacks.

She was the key organizer of family events and loved each and every member of the family. We will miss her badly. She was preceded in death by a daughter Barbara Lawson, and two grandsons, Stephen Resch and Clayton Uselton.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, three daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, their sons and daughters.

Granny was very dear to all who knew her and she will be greatly missed by her family and the many friends she has left behind.

Funeral services was held at 10 a.m. at South Side Baptist Church with burial at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Putman Funeral Home.
