Private, Co. C. 210 Pa. Infantry. Enlisted 16 Sept. 1864. Died of typhoid fever in the hospital at Baltimore.

Married 15 August 1858 in Bloomsburg, Columbia Co., Pa. to Sophia Edgar, who survived him, along with three children, Susan Elizabeth (Marr) Neff, George Lawrence Marr and Hannah Jane (Marr) Hollabaugh. His widow afterward remarried to Joseph G. Hampton.

Marr was originally buried in what is now Loudon Park cemetery in Baltimore, but his body was later returned home as referenced by The Columbian (Bloomsburg, Pa), June 4, 1886, a list of soldier's graves decorated by Ent Post, GAR. Marr is listed as being buried at "New Columbia."
