Jesse graduated for the University of Pittsburgh, then known as Western University of Pennsylvania with honors in 1902 with a degree of D.D.S. His dental office was in Pittsburgh and was very interested in x-ray and oral diagnosis. He was a member of various dental organizations and a 32nd degree Mason.

Pennington - Of Madison Ave., Library, on Monday, Feb. 21, 1949, at 6 pm, Dr. J. A., husband of Gertrude Linton Pennington, in his 72nd year, father of Dr. Jess A. Pennington, Jr., Mrs. William C. Booth, Mrs. Graydon Smith, and brother of Mary F. Pennington of Carmichaels, Pa. Friends received at the E. B. Laughlin Funeral Home, where services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 8:30 pm. Interment at Carmichaels, Greene County, Pa., on Thursday at 3 pm.
