Sally was born in Hopewell Twp., Mercer Co., NJ, the daughter of R. Lewis Blackwell and Letha A. Sheppard. She married Ascher Scott Dansberry Jr.

Sarah (Sally) Dansberry NEWTOWN, PA - Sarah (Sally) Dansberry, 91, died peacefully on Friday, July 1, 2011, at Pickering Manor Nursing Home in Newtown, PA. Born July 24, 1919, on a farm in Hopewell Township, Mrs. Dansberry was the second of three daughters of the late R. Lewis and Letha Sheppard Blackwell. She graduated from Hopewell Township Central High School and the Mercer Hospital School of Nursing. She was office nurse in the office of Jack L. Ward, M.D. of Trenton for several years. She was the wife of Ascher Scott Dansberry Jr. for 70 years, and is survived by two sons and one daughter, Ascher Scott (Patricia) Dansberry III; Alan (Marva Joy) Dansberry and Bettilyn (Thomas) Bogia; seven grandchildren, Susan (Jeff) Marquardt, Sandra (Sean) Dougal, Leanne (Jeff) Storer, Drew (Jonine) Dansberry, Colin (Melissa) Dansberry, Michael (Amanda) Dansberry and Tucker (Kristine) Dansberry; also survived by great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Nathanael, Aaron and Jessie Marquardt; Rachael and Jacob Storer; Aubrey and Julianna Dansberry; Katelyn and Riley Dougal and Mckenna and Ascher William Dansberry. Mrs. Dansberry is also survived by her sister, Ruth Blackwell, and sister-in-law, Janet (Harry) Bloor. She was a member of the Hopewell Calvary Baptist Church, and Victory Chapter No. 96 Order of the Eastern Star of New Jersey. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, July 23, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church, 3 East Prospect St., Hopewell, NJ 08525. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cromwell - Immordino Memorial Home, 71 East Prospect Street, Hopewell, NJ 08525. Memorial gifts may be made to Calvary Baptist Church.

Gravesite Details

This memorial is tentatively placed in Highland Cemetery, where Sarah's sister Janet Everitt and other members of the Dansberry family are interred. However, the burial place needs to be confirmed.
