August P. Banscher, 83, of R.R. No. 2, Indian Bluff Road, Milan, died this morning at the Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley, after a three-year illness.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in the Larson Chapel, Milan. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park. Visitation is after noon Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bansche was born in Rock Island. He married Harriet Dean Oct. 20, 1909 in Milan. The couple farmed in Milan until 1950. She died in 1956. He married Margaret Staudahar Nov. 15, 1961 in Cambridge.
He formerly had been employed at Horst & Strieter, Rock Island, 25 years.
Mr. Banscher was a member and director of the board of the Rock Island County Farm Bureau for many years and a member of the Rock Island County Fair Board.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Mrs. Dale McKeag, Orion, and Mrs. Hilbert Stone, Carbon Cliff; a foster daughter, Mrs. Chester Field, Knoxville, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
