Jesse and Sarah had 4 known children: James Washington (b. 1865; d. 1952), Joseph (b. 1868), Roetta (b. 1869; d. 1954), and Bertha (b. 1878).
After Sarah's passing, Jesse married Eliza Jane Hutchinson (b. 1859; d. 1946) in 1883 in Kentucky. Jesse and Eliza had nine known children: Thomas Albert (b. 1883; d. 1955), Lamar (b. 1884), Pearly D (b. 1886; d. 1963), Ida May (b. 1887; d. 1951), Beulah (b. 1889; d. 1963), Lizzie (b/d 1890), Zelotis P "Zoad" (b. 1892; d. 1947), Zada (b. 1896; d. 1960), and Dewey (b. 1898; d. 1963).
