Aaron L. Gist, age 76, a retired farmer, died Sunday, January 14, 1979, in the Chickasawba Hospital. He had been a Blytheville resident since 1945.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Valma Gist; three sons: David Gist of Steele, Julius Gist and Billy Gist, both of Gosnell; five daughters: Mrs. U.V. Cleveland, Mrs. Ruby Dent, and Mrs. Dorsey Blair, all of St. Louis; Mrs. Beatrice Lair of Viburnum, Mo., and Mrs. Reba Cockran of Armona, Calif.; one brother, Amas Gist of Nettleton, Miss.; one sister, Mrs. Clancy bean of Nocatee, Fla.; 36 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday, January 17, 1979 at 1:30 p.m. in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Faulkner officiating and burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery.
