Wayne married first to Avis Marian Watson on 22 April 1934. They made their home first at Goodland, Kansas before relocating to Colorado Springs, Colorado about 1940 where he was a landscape gardener. Wayne and Avis were the parents of one son, who died at birth, and two daughters. Wayne married next to Belva Baker on 1 September 1942 at Orange County, California. They made their home at El Monte, California and LaPuente, California where Wayne was employed first by Chrysler Corporation and later by Lockheed Aerospace Company and by Cal-Cor Corporation.
