Mrs. Evelyn C. Joyner, age 80, of Lyons, died Thursday, February 11, 2016, in the St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, after an extended illness. She was born in Taber City, North Carolina, and lived in Toombs County for the past fifty-one years. She worked in the fitting room at Wal-Mart in Vidalia for eighteen years, and was Baptist by faith. She was preceded in death by two sons, James Lloyd Joyner and Robert Mitchell "Robbie" Joyner; parents, John and Docia Mae Butler Beck; and three infant siblings.
