Fred Herren, age 78, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014. He was born on July 3, 1935 to John F. and Louise Herren in Belton, Texas.

He was raised in Childress, Texas. He graduated from Childress High School in 1953 and attended Texas Christian University and The University of Texas. Fred served in the U. S. Navy from 1954-1956. He married his wife of 56 years, Janis Jones, on December 27, 1957. Fred was employed by Dun & Bradstreet, Inc. In 1981, he opened Diamontrigue Jewelry in Corpus Christi, Texas. He owned and operated that business with help from his daughter and wife until he retired. Fred will always be remembered for his love of laughter and devotion to family and friends. He was Life Member of Mensa, Life Member of The University of Texas Exes, member of Harley Owners Group, and member of South Shore Christian Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Margaret Ann Bennett of Fort Worth, Texas.

Fred is survived by his wife, daughter, two grandchildren; two nieces; three nephews; and many cousins and friends.

Interment to follow service at Seaside Memorial Park.
