DeForest Wayne Winslow passed away on April 28, 2014 in Murray, Utah.

He was born September 17, 1917 in North Platte, Nebraska to George Earl Winslow and Dessie Belle Updike. He was the youngest of nine children.

On January 4, 1941, he married Elaine Sdrales in Elko, Nevada.

Grandpa was in the Navy and worked at HAFB, where he tested aircraft engines. After a medical discharge from the Navy, he attended college in Logan. He eventually went to work at Lelis Transmission as a mechanic. You may remember seeing him in TV ads for Lelis back in the 70's.

DeForest is survived by his son, Dennis W. Winslow; daughter-in-law, Susan Winslow; and grandsons, Dustin W. Winslow, PhD., and fiancé, Michelle Hui, PhD., Houghton, Michigan; and AFC Kevin J. Winslow, Eielson, AFB, Alaska. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine, who passed away on September 25, 1997; his parents; three sisters; and five brothers, with whom he spent many hours on the golf course.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014 at Mountain View Memorial Estates Mortuary, 3115 East Bengal Boulevard (7800 South). A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services.
