He was born March 31, 1909 in Overton, Nebraska to George Earl and Dessie Belle Updike Winslow. He married Veon Winterton Peterson on January 8, 1973 in Salt Lake City. He worked as a painter with Local No. 77 for many years. He served in the Army in World War II. He loved golfing and bowling.He is survived by his wife, Veon; daughters, Joyce Fisher of Tacoma, WA; Kay (Tom) Broadhead of Murray; Connie (Richard) Welsh of Salt Lake City; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Fay Calvin of California; De Forest of Murray; one sister, Margaret Headman of Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 29, 1997 at 11 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road, where friends may call Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services.
