Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 20, 2004 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sauk Rapids for Johanna C. Kath, age 94, who died Thursday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Paul Cloeter and Rev. Harvey Ehlers will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Sunday at Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Monday at the church in Sauk Rapids. Trinity Lutheran prayers will be at 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Johanna was born Sept. 6, 1910 in Minden Township (Benton County) to Charles & Grace (Gerezma) Vierkant. She married William Kath on Oct. 19, 1930 in Minneapolis. Johanna was a lifelong resident of Minden Township and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her daughters and son, Jean (Ralph) Massman of Kimball, Alice (Roy) Peterson of Nisswa, and William (JoAnn) Kath of Sauk Rapids; sisters and brothers, Grace Frantz of Chicago, IL, Louise Impastato of Mesa, AZ, Edward Vierkant of Chicago, IL, Ernest Vierkant of Minneapolis, and Carl Vierkant of Emily; 17 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.
Johanna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William on Dec. 4, 1993; brother, Julius Vierkant; sister, Mathilda Hendrickson; and three infant brothers and sisters.
