Mary Catherine Wurth, 87 of Paducah, passed away at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center in Paducah.

She was a Reidland High School graduate, and retired from Lourdes Hospital Housekeeping Department after more than 20 years of service. After retirement she was able to share her love of gardening while working at Wurth Farm's, where she was affectionately known as "Aunt Mary."

Ms. Wurth is survived by her son, Michael William Wurth, and wife Regina, of Paducah; two sisters, Dorris Scheer of Paducah and Ethel O'Neill and husband, Walter, of Milburn, KY; four brothers, James Kortz of Paducah, Charles Kortz, and wife, Bonnie, of Paducah, Earl Kortz of Paducah, and Richard Kortz, and wife, Florence, of Owensboro, KY; two grandchildren, Staci Baker and Kristi Wurth, both of Paducah; one great-grandchild, Austin Baker of Paducah, and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, of almost 50 years, Andrew Joseph Wurth; and her parents, Frank William Kortz and Mary Luvada (Wurth) Kortz; and one sister, Mildred Kortz.

The funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2014 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Tom Buckman officiating. Burial will follow at the St. John Cemetery.
Visitation for Ms. Wurth will be Sunday, May 4, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with prayers beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.

Contributions may be made to the St. Mary School System at 1243 Elmdale Rd. Paducah, KY, 42003.
