Nancy Eloise Bussell Smoot, 73, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 3, 2014 after a long illness.
Born July 4, 1940 in Nicholas County, she was a daughter of the late Allen & Myrtle Belle Farris Bussell, was a devoted homemaker, mother & grandmother and a member of the Mt. Zion Christian Church.
She is survived by 2 sons: Roger Smoot, of Fleming County, & Damon (Tonya) Smoot, of Winchester; a daughter: Tina Smoot; a brother: Kenneth Bussell; 3 sisters: Helen Vaughn, Delores Green & Dorothy Gaunce, all of Carlisle; and 6 grandchildren: Amanda Dawn, Roger Dale, Quinton Allen, Isaac Thomas, Halley Danielle and Lucas Hayden Smoot, along with several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Chester & Douglas Bussell, a sister, Madeline Bussell, and a grandson, Jamie Todd Smoot-Watkins.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Bro. Bobby Stone, Bro. Joey McClease and Bro. Jimmy Caswell. Burial will follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Friday.
