He was an auto mechanic most of his life and owned a repair shop in Corona for more than 20 years. After retiring from his repair shop, he worked as a fire lookout at Twin Peaks, Strawberry Lookout, for an additional 20 years.
A veteran of World War I, he was a resident of Lodi for three years.
Survivors include: wife, Florence Brines of Lodi; daughter, sons; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
