Florence Melissa Johnson Brines, born the fourth of 12 children on Jan. 4, 1950 in Vernal, Utah, got away Jan. 27, 1995
We mourn her absence but rejoice in her liberation. Florence was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Frank Brines, her husband of 65 years, preceded her in death in June 1989.
She was a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by brothers Frank and Max, and sisters, Priscilla and Lucy-all of Utah.
Her hobbies included quilting, knitting, crocheting, sewing, needlework, reading and gardening.
She and her husband operated a garage in Corona, Calif. fro, 1938 through 1958. From 1958 through 1977, she was employed by the U.S. Forest Service as a fire lookout at Twi Peaks Lookout in the San Bernardino Mountains.
