Funeral services were held in Eureka last week for Adolph Meidinger, 85, one of the earliest pioneers of that community, who passed away in the Eureka Hospital on December 13, after a month long illness.
He was born November 08, 1858, in Kassel, South Russia, and at the age of 23 was married to Barbara Mehlhaff. Three years later, the couple came to this country, settling in Menno. In 1885, they came to Eureka, settling on a farm east of town, where they resided until 1920 when they moved to Eureka.
His wife passed away in August 1927.
He is survived by five sons and four daughters.
