Clyde Joshua Haddock, 77, of Chester, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014. Born in Washington, NC he was the son of the late William Augustus and Sina Smith Haddock; and was also preceded in death by a son, Barry Douglas Haddock; and eleven brothers and sisters. Mr. Haddock loved collecting clocks as well as collecting and restoring antiques. He enjoyed gardening and making and refinishing furniture. Mr. Haddock was a longtime member of Chester Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Karen B. Haddock; one son, Brian Scott Haddock; a granddaughter, Gabriella Faye Haddock; two sisters, Sybil H. Buck (Wesley) and Peggy H. Taylor; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Braswell, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crater Community Hospice, 3916 S. Crater Rd., Petersburg, VA 23805.
