According to a letter written by his mother Sarah "Walker" Arnn, John was killed when a tree fell on him and his horse on the family property and they buried him at Spring Creek Cemetery. John recently expressed his happiness at living in Henry County having migrated from the previous family home in Pittsylvania Co, VA and hoped that his other siblings who had stayed in Virginia would soon migrate to Tennessee uniting all the siblings. Siblings listed by age: Henry Clay, Abilee "Kit" (a sister), George Jr, twins Abihue and Anadab, Ann, Frances, Judith, William, James Madison. John never married.
