Prior to marriage she was a medical-secretary for a brain surgeon in the Bay Area. During WWII Todd Shipyards-Matson Navigation employed her as maintenance cost accountant and other related duties. In Lodi she held various jobs but found the most challenging one with the Lodi Unified School District serving as secretary to the Assistant Superintendent until she retired in December of 1975.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, travelig, especially stream fishing in the mountains with her husband, bridge, and entertaining her many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, mother and father. Since Dorothy had no living relatives she is survived by a loving stepfamily, including her son, Gary and his wife, Linda of CT; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
