Carlton Elmer Harbaugh was the son of George Elmer Harbaugh(1868-1952) and Lenore (Nora) Claressa Stem (1874-1944). All were born in Maryland, but living in 1900 and 1910 in Liberty Township, Adams County, PA.

Carlton married Bertha C. Riley. He was a private, 13 Recruit Co General Service Infantry, at Ft. Thomas, Ky, enlisting May 1917.
He lived with his wife in Covington at 827 Madison Ave. He contracted the flu and broncho-pneumonia and died at home in Covington, Kenton Co., KY, on Oct 15, 1918. He was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton, Butler Co., OH, on Oct 19, 1918.

Bertha remarried to Charles N. Myers.
