A retired secretary to the dean in the chemistry and physics department at LSU and a retired AA Central Office manager, she died Wednesday, July 1, 1998, at her residence in Baton Rouge. She was 70 and a native of Hornbeck. Visiting at Welsh Funeral Home, 6700 Florida Blvd., 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday.

Religious services at the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Monday.

Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Survived by stepmother, Ruth Brown, Nederland, Texas; two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda Claire Rogers, Baton Rouge, and Debra Rogers Clark and Mikel Clark, Berwick; two grandchildren, Alexandra Noelle Clark and Mikel Ross Clark; a brother, Maurice Land Brown Jr., East Point, Ga.; a sister, Anna Frances Wyatt, Decatur, Ga.; a half-brother, Jimmy Brown, Texas; a half-sister, Mary Brown Medina, Miami; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by father, Maurice Land Brown Sr.; mother, Irene Brown; and a brother, Joe Bob Brown.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Naomi Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star.
