Andrew Cecil Kimbrel, age 76, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Monday, September 30, 2013 in Kingsville. He was born November 22, 1936 in Baker County, Georgia to Benjamin Franklin Kimbrel and Agnes Marie Sheffield Kimbrel. Mr. Kimbrel, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, was employed at the King Ranch Saddle Shop as a production manager. Later he was employed by South Texas Lighthouse for the Blind, a non-profit organization, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Andrew was a member of the First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Keith Kimbrel; adopted son, Eleazar Alvara; and parents.
Mr. Kimbrel is survived by his wife of 50 years of marriage, Delphine Kimbrel of Kingsville; one daughter, Shirl Powell (Todd) of Kingsville; two sons, Terry Kimbrel (Sonya) of Tallahassee, Florida and Denny Kimbrel (Elva) of Corpus Christi, Texas; one brother, James Kimbrel (Judith) of Seoul, South Korea; one sister, Duana Cecere of Cairi, Georgia; and many beloved grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jack Willoughby officiating.
Memorials may be made to South Texas Lighthouse for the Blind, 4421 Agnes, Corpus Christi, Texas 78405.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
