Word has been received here of the death early Tuesday morning of Professor Lawerence O. Doerr, 79, in Fargo, North Dakota. Professor Doerr was a brother of Hubert Doerr, of Brownstown, and he also had several cousins, nieces and nephews in Jackson County. Professor Doerr was the son of the late Phillip and Cordella Waskom Doerr and was born and reared in Jackson County, near Tampico. A graduate of Purdue University, Professor Doerr spent most of his teaching career in various universities and a few years ago he retired from North Dakota University. He was also very active in church work. He was married to the former Idah Russell, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jane Littlejohn, of New York State and Miss Barbara Doerr, who is a missionary and his brother here. A sister, Gertrude Lubker, and a brother, Oren Doerr, preceded him in death. Burial will be in Fargo.
