Margaret Teegarden was born January 7, 1838; died March 10, 1915, aged 77 years, 2 months and 2 days. She was married to Peter Riley, February 11, 1862. To this union were born 10 children, Olonzo, John, Josie, Ellen, Jane, James, William, Elmer, Charles and Belle, the husband and three of the children, Olonzo, John and Belle, having preceded her in death.

She joined the Quaker church many years ago and clung to the faith until the last, putting her trust in her Heavenly Father, who she said never failed her. She leaves seven children, many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn their loss. She is gone but not forgotten.

Short funeral services were held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thos. Thomas Thursday morning, March 11, 1915, interment following in Cooper cemetery northwest of Kingman.

She was first married briefly to Thomas Hathaway. They married 29 Dec 1858 in Fountain County, IN. Whether they divorced or he died is currently unknown.

The obit says she married Peter Riley on 11 Feb 1862, but marriage records in the Fountain County Courthouse say they were married on either the 10th or 19th of July 1862, depending upon which book you look at.

Parke County death records indicate she died in Sugar Creek Township.
