GILTNER — Wade Coats, 42, of Giltner passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Mary Lanning Memorial Healthcare in Hastings.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Giltner. Pastor Bruce Phillips will officiate. Burial will be in the Giltner Cemetery. The family requests casual dress for the services. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Wade Matthew Coats, the son of Duane and Jacqueline (Osterman) Coats, was born at Aurora on Sept. 25, 1971, and passed away in Hastings on April 19, 2014, at the age of 42.
Wade attended Hastings Public Schools and went on to graduate from Giltner High School in 1993. Wade worked at the Hamilton Motor Inn for five years.
Wade was a member of the Giltner United Methodist Church, TOPS NE No. 832 and Hastings Special Olympics. He was the first recipient of a wish from the Angel Foundation of Hastings. They made his wish come true by arranging for Wade to attend WOW Wrestling and personally meet one of his wrestling heroes, Rick Flair.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and nephew, Seth Coats.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Duane and Jackie Coats of Giltner; two sisters, Deb (Lin) Hoskins of Hastings and Rhonda (Larry) Coats of San Angelo, Texas; two brothers, Terry (Glenda) Coats and Allan (Gayla) Coats, all of Giltner; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; special caregiver, Sharon; and many other relatives and friends.
