Vernell (Mallory) Alfson, 93, Coeur d'Alene, died Nov. 16, 2004, at Four Season Spring Cottage Assisted Living in Coeur d'Alene.

She was born Aug. 16, 1911, in Idaho Falls, to Lorenzo and Mamie (Herrick) Mallory. Vernell lived the past several years in Post Falls before moving to Coeur d'Alene. Throughout most of her life she lived in Portland.

Vernell is survived by her sisters Olive Baldwin of Tyler, Minn., and Grace Heath, Mountain Home; brother Dallis Mallory, Ontario, Ore.; numerous nieces and nephews who live is Oregon, Washington and Idaho; and very special friend, Dave Simons, Coeur d'Alene.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Olin Aldin Alfson; infant daughter, Beulah Fern Braymer, in 1931 in Cascade, Idaho; four sisters and seven brothers.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. November 22, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell. Burial will follow at Canyon Hill Cemetery in Caldwell. Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene, is in charge of local arrangements.
