Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 24, 2014 at noon in the Chapel of Dilday – Carter Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery where Ms. Dodson wanted to be buried with her parents and family.
Mrs. Dodson was born November 25, 1909, in Carroll County, Tennessee, to the late John Ernest and Alice (Thompson) Pickler, one of ten brothers and sisters. After graduating high school, Mrs. Dodson went on to graduate as a registered nurse from Protestant Hospital and Nursing School in 1929. She ultimately became Director of Nursing at Baptist Hospital in Nashville where she retired. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Lavergne and of Owen Chapel Church in Brentwood.
She is predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Carl "Pete" Dodson and all of her siblings. She is survived by a daughter, Jane Beal, of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, a grandson, Judge Robbie (Heather) Beal, of Franklin, Tennessee and a great grandson, Antonio Beal
