Addison Carlton “A.C.” Maclin, 79, of Saginaw, Texas, formerly of Hartshorne, died Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. He was born on Jan. 3, 1935, in Ft. Worth, Texas, to Carlton M. and Geraldine (King) Maclin. His youth was spent in southeast Oklahoma and he also lettered in high school football at Riverside. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and water sports. He started working at the age of 17 for Armour Swifts at the stockyard, in Fort Worth. Soon after, he began his career as a butcher. In 1987, he moved to Hartshorne where he raised cattle and also worked in the meat market at Lindley’s Grocery. He was a devoted father who loved his family and friends. His great sense of humor was enjoyed by many. He had a caring heart and disposition to help those in need. He enjoyed spending time with his sons and grandchildren, of whom he was so proud. He is survived by his sons, Carlton Willis Maclin, and fiancée Tami Becker, of Fort Worth, Texas, Darron Dwayne Maclin, and wife, Bridgette of Fort Worth, Mark Halyard, and wife, Dee, of McAlester; step-son, Roger Mark Mullins, and wife, Sharron Christine of Fort Worth; Richard Mullins, and wife, Nancy of Fort Worth; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by is parents; his wife, Bobbye, who died on March 26, 2010; and a son, Breck Halyard. The family will receive friends at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home on today from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Day officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dalton Macllin, Dillon Maclin, Dayne Maclin, Charlene Bell, Clidia Lindley and Sandy Rose. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Bell, Jimmy Russell, Steve Suter and Richard Matthews.
