Lois was born in Arkansas on April 10th, 1943, daughter of Woodrow "Cecil" and Eveline Stout Stevens. She attended Arkansas Schools, was a homemaker her entire life and enjoyed gardening, and spending time with her family.
Lois was survived by three daughters, Linda (and her husband, Phillip) Cox of Muncie, Indiana, Pamela Hayes of Robbins, Tennessee, and Lavonda (and her husband, Luther) Burris of Muncie, Indiana; four brothers, James (and his wife, Donna) Stevens of Albany, Indiana, Sam Stevens of Hartford City, Indiana, Don (and his wife, Betty) Stevens of Montpelier, Indiana, and Gary (and his wife, Marie)Stevens of Muncie, Indiana; one sister, Brenda (and her husband, Richard) Brown of Hartford City, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Courtney (and her husband, Frank) Russell of Muncie, Indiana, Danny (and his wife, Lindsey) Blades of Nashville, Tennessee, Christopher Burris of Muncie, Indiana, Katrina Beach of Tennessee, Jessica Campbell of Muncie, Indiana, A.J. (and his wife, Crystal) Smith of Tennessee, and Samantha Smith of Tennessee; eleven great grandchildren; a special great grandson, Steven Drinkard; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Stevens, who departed this life on September 1st, 1978 and Eveline Stevens, who departed this life on February 25th, 1994; and the love of her life her husband of 18 years, Farrell Lavaughn Hayes.
Visitations were held after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2014 at Parson Mortuary in Muncie, Indiana.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2014 in the Chapel of Parson Mortuary.
Burial followed in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, Indiana
