Sarah Ellen (Brown) Stucker was the daughter of John Brown and Frances Ann Cusick. Her parents married in Jefferson Co., Iowa, and Sarah and her older sister Elizabeth were born there. The family afterward moved back east, to Jefferson Co., Indiana. In the 1860s, they moved to Bartholomew Co., Indiana.

Sarah E. Brown and George W. Stucker were married in Bartholomew Co., Sept. 4, 1872.

Sarah was originally buried at Newsom Cemetery, near Elizabethtown, where her parents and several babies were interred. Her body was moved to Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus a couple of months after her husband died in 1925. Three of their infants remain buried at Newsom Cemetery, as well as Sarah Ellen's parents and George's father, Eli.
