She was born Jan. 15, 1944, in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., the daughter of Samuel and Delcia Mae Cross Adkins. She married Thomas Mattingly in 1980; he survives.
Other survivors include one step-son, Thomas Mattingly, Jr. of Owensboro, Ky.; two step-daughters, Mary Taylor of Tenn., and Anna Fuqua of Philpot, Ky.; three brothers, Robert Adkins of Ashmore, Tim Adkins of Longview, and Henry Adkins of Villa Grove; one sister, Linda Walters of Broadlands; and 12 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one sister.
Mrs. Mattingly was a homemaker. She was a member of Kemp Church of Christ.
