Vernie E Horath, 79, of Atlanta, IL passed away April 5, 2001.
Vernie was born Sept. 21, 1921 in Mason IL to Isaac Andrew and Sarah Elizabeth "Betty" Lilley Horath. He married Mary Louise Belcher Aug. 13, 1943 in Bay City, Texas. Mary Louise survives.
Also surviving are three sons, James (Shirley) of Delavan, Richard (Emily) of Normal and David (Rosalie) of Atlanta; one daughter Kathi (Grant) LaForge of New Holland. One brother Leo of Thermopolis, Wyo.; three sisters, Thelma (Bill) Allin, Dorothy (Rex) Gordon both of McLean and Nellie Renfrow of Atlanta, nine grandchildren; one great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, seven brothers Artie, Irvin, Alfred, William (Bill), Carl, Nolan and Roy, two sisters Susie Pearl, Pansy (Pat) preceded him in death.
Vernie was a WW II Army Veteran, serving from 1942 to 1945. He served with the 482nd Anti-Aircraft AWBNSP during the Battle of the Bulge.
