PHILIPSBURG - Funeral services for Robert Thomas Dunkle, 74, of Philipsburg will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at the chapel of Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale, with Pastor Kenneth Leonard officiating.
He died Tuesday, Aug. 21, at 9:20 a.m. at Clearfield Hospital.
Interment will be a Centre Hill United Methodist Cemetery, Morrisdale.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Friday, Aug. 24, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 25, from 10 a.m. until the hour of services.
Born Oct. 14, 1937, at Morrisdale, he was a son of Thomas H. and Esther L. (Rothrock) Dunkle.
Mr. Dunkle was employed by Coal Ridge Inc. from 1964-1988, where he retired as a dragline operator.
He was a life member of the Lincoln Club, Hawk Run.
In 1958, he wed Margaret Kardohely Dunkle, who died in 1964.
He is survived by two daughters, Theresa Drewel of Cheney, Wash., and Darlene Dunkle of Allport; a son, Jeffrey Dundle of Morrisdale, two grandchildren, Jeremiah Drewel of North Pole, Alaska, and Christopher Drewel of Spokane, Wash.; four sisters, Elizabeth Williams of Tyrone, Pauline Bergey of Clearfield, Joan Murray and Deborah Dunkle, both of Red Hook, N.Y.; and two brothers, James Dunkle and his wife, OraBell, and WIlliam Dunkle and his wife, Candace, all of Morrisdale.
Also surviving are his companion of 40 years, Viola Hubler of Philipsburg, and her children, Jerry Hubler of State College, Randy Hubler of Grassflat and Mitchell Hubler of Philipsburg; and a number of grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Dunkle was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Beverly Kramer; a son-in-law, Brian Drewel; and Wally Hubler, son of his companion.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 26 S. Second St., Clearfield, PA 16830.
