His name may have been Levi Richardson Isbell.
Some family trees show his death date as Aug. 29, 1895.
Some show his birthplace as Warren County while others say Lincoln County, Tennessee.

The 1870 census gives his place of birth as Alabama, but the 1850, 1860 and 1880 censuses say Tennessee. His parents married in Alabama in 1816 but returned to Tennessee for a few years. They were living in Jackson County, Alabama, by 1821.

He married 28 Feb. 1844 in Franklin Co., TN. to Margaret "Loney" (Long), daughter of John and Susannah (McCullough) Long.

An abstract of an undated Valley Leaves issue(Tennessee Valley Genealogical Society) states (Google cache),"This Levi Isbell was a member. gave the names of his five children as Margaret, Amanda, Malvinia, David, Harriet." Unclear and incomplete but evidently referencing a church record.
