Miss Matilda Parker passed away at the home of her niece, Mrs. David Creighton, Whitewater, early Sunday morning. Miss Parker was one of Janesville's oldest residents. One of twelve children of Isaac H. and Maria Soper Parker she is the last of her generation. Born in the early forties in Theresa, N.Y., she came when a child to Wisconsin with her parents and settled on a farm in the town of Center. In later years she moved to this city and lived at 1068 Ravine street, her niece, Mrs. James Waddle, residing with her.
The deceased leaves to mourn her loss three nieces, Mrs. David Creighton, Whitewater; Mrs. James Waddle, this city; Mrs. Chester Gifford, Monroe, and a nephew, Charles Carpenter, this city. Several nieces living in the states of New York and California also survive...
